Grammy award winning singer, Burna Boy has waded into the brouhaha that has erupted after the Lagos State Panel of Investigations released its report on the #EndSARS protest that occured in November, 2020.
According to the Lagos State Panel of Investigation’s recently released report on the Lekki Toll Gate incident, police and Nigerian Army officers purposefully killed and injured armless youths protesting.
According to the article, Major General Taiwo, who testified before the panel in the course of the probe, intimated that the soldiers acted on orders from Buratai, who received orders from President Muhammadu Buhari, the Commander-in-Chief.
Recall that the minister of information and culture, Lai took a firm stand against the backlash following the Lekki toll gate incident as he declared that there were no casualties at the gate when the army were called in to check on the peaceful protesters.
Burna boy went ahead to release a song about the Lekki toll gate as he sympathised with the blood that was spilled on that day.
“I just sleep wake up see say government nyash open far and wide today.
You cannot clean innocent blood with Lie Mohammed”
In a related development, Nigerian activist, Aisha Yesufu has chastised people who denied that a massacre occurred at the popular Lekki toll gate.
Following the report of the Lagos State Panel of Investigations, Aisha has taken to Twitter to lash out at the big mouths who vehemently denied that there was a massacre at the toll gate.
She wrote: “They said no one was killed and asked us to produce the bodies they took. You see all these people who denied there was massacre at Lekki Toll Gate, come 2025 when their principals are out of office, they will become advocates of good governance and democracy and hold government accountable. The ones who denied #ChibokGirls are today’s advocates.
